Things have gone well this month and I have finally finished my shopping cart, well release 1 at least. The original scope expanded from my original idea of a very simple shopping cart to include some of the better features of some of the more complex shopping cart systems while still retaining the overall goal of being simple to manage for the novice user.

Release 1 has all the basic features for physical products as well as software products to allow for downloads via the cart securely. Installation is still a manual process with the need to edit the configuration files, Release 2 will have most of the configuration setup moved to the Administration area but for now the simple solution has been used.

Some final testing still has to be done to make sure we have everything working as planned, the demo setup has been extensively tested over the last month and production stores are being setup now. A public demo store will be setup soon and we will also be installing the cart software so all features can be tested in a live environment including the administration interface, the demo store will be reset every hour.

Development will continue once Release 1 has gone Alpha, with some live stores up and running we will be after feedback to guide the next stage of development including what additional features to include for the next release.
